like in my previous topic... i've wait for what's the reaction of Billy with the death of Michael Jackson... but still i didn't know what's he's words with it.... but i know he's sad.... I just want it to hear from Billy!.... and i know it's almost near to the death of BG's grandmother's death......

A Statement About Michael Jackson
I am shocked with the rest of the world over the sudden passing of Michael Jackson. I will always have very fond memories of working with him and all the other talented people on "What More Can I Give" and his 30th anniversary special with his brothers. We have lost a legend too soon. All that knew him knew he only wanted to please and I hope he finally gets the respect he deserves. Thanks Michael for all you gave to your fans..my whole family extends their prayers to your family at this difficult time.

I think they mean that they wanted a response from Billy or his management about Billy appearing on American Idol. A bit far-fetched, but I think that's what this person is asking.

It would be awesome if Billy was on American Idol. He would be able to give a lot of advice to the constants. Everyone singing one of his songs, would be so cool. I wouldn't miss it if he was there. What if he is going to be a guest judge for the auditions? I know they haven't said anything about that, but it could happen. I really want him to be on Idol. I have loved him and his music since I was 11 years old and I am 21 now. He is only 17 days older then me. I heard one voice and I was hooked to him. Song made me cry first time hearing it. He is amazing!!!!

Yes, it could happen. I'm just saying it's a bit out there to think that you can post a topic on an artists' fan boards then expect their management to be like "Hey, we booked Billy to be on American Idol."

And be realistic guys... a hugely popular show like American Idol has their stuff planned out like you wouldn't believe. Plus Fox is a huge network. Usually, an artist has to be invited to be on a show like that. It's very rare that the artists' management calls up American Idol's executive producers (especially THIS CLOSE to the show's airing) and/or the Fox network and says, "I'm Billy Gilman's management. Can he guest-judge?"

If he is ever on there, it will probably be another season. Not this upcoming season. I mean, he did judge on star-search once.

Simon released a statement today that this is his last season. So he will be here this season, but his contract will expire and he won't be back for next season. He's chosen to work on X Factor instead.

Good point. Few carry the name Gilman as Gilmore is much more common.

Now about the American Idol situation - what amazes me is how so many are lured to fight for a metaphorical sausage of limited quality with a limited date of "best before". Also if you're trying to sing for American Idol in order to get a contract, they can make you do anything they please.

My council is to wait. If Billy does whatever he did locally and for the MDA, he has a better chance of remaining true to his old-fashioned country-flavored identity.
