But, for newbies who don't know, we have raised money for the MDA every year that Billy has been involved with the MDA. You can make a donation by visiting our Donations link over on the left there. 100% of your donation will go to the MDA. The donations are collected securely through paypal. We have never had any kind of issue, such as lost donations, through paypal. And we've been doing this for quite a few years now. We have, over several years, only had one snail mailed donation get lost without being recovered. We always recommend not using snail mail. If you absolutely must mail your donation, please be sure to contact me first. I'll let you know how to do it correctly.
For each dollar you donate, you will receive one entry into our drawing. For example, a $5 donation will get you 5 entries. This year's prize, as mentioned in another thread already, is a 3 foot by 4 foot autographed hard plastic poster that was featured at Billy's 09 Fan Fair booth. But remember we are doing it to help a very good cause. Last year we raised almost enough to send three kids to the MDA's summer camp. It would be nice if we could send a lot more than that this year. It would actually only take a few dollars from each member to do it.
For the time being, we will make Labor Day the final deadline for donations. I have not started posting donation totals on here yet, but donations have actually been coming in for months already. We started collecting all year round last year. I'll start posting totals right here in this post as soon as I have time.
For those who have to have their parents donate for them... If your parents have concerns about security and theft, please keep in mind that we do this every year, we have an account with the MDA and work closely with the MDA and Billy on this every year. It's also a felony to defraud a charity.
Please pay attention to which page you are donating through. There are two. One is items that we use to raise money for the MDA. The other is for items we use to fund BGF projects. The t-shirts and wristband are for the MDA. Donations made, and items purchased, on the other page of our store will not go to the MDA. Those help fund projects like Billy's Fan Fair booth. There is a separate prize and drawing for that as well. But we won't be dealing with that again until after the MDA fundraiser ends. We will be adding a few new items to that store after the telethon. Those who attended Fan Fair this year have already seen what most of the new items are.
